It all started at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where fate (and dorm assignments) brought us together. Celine, a Wine & Viticulture major, was placed in the North Mountain dorm—surrounded almost entirely by engineering majors. Gabriel, studying Electrical Engineering, was placed a few doors down.

Celine’s roommate and bridesmaid Amanda Castillo was in Gabriel’s orientation group and introduced the two a few weeks into the school year. Later that quarter, mutual friends planned a trip to Montana de Oro State Park. We became friends laughing and talking over a bonfire that night. A few months later, Gabriel asked Celine on a Valentine’s Day date to Sunset Drive-In, and we’ve been together ever since.
